Ahmed Gallab, alias Sinkane kündigt sein neues Album mit dem Namen Dépayse an, welches am 31.05.2019 erscheinen wird. Auf dieser Platte hat sich Sinkane nun vollkommen als Musiker gefunden und seine Berufung gefunden. Schon seit letztes Album Life & Livin‘ It erschien, als das politische Klima in den USA sich schlagartig änderte. Leider hat sich seitdem nicht sehr viel verändert und so setzt sich Sinkane auch wieder mit diesem Umstand auseinander  „Hass ist für mich nichts Neues“ sagt Ahmed Gallab. „Als schwarzer, muslimischer Amerikaner werde ich allzu oft als Ausländer in meinem eigenen Land bezeichnet, und tatsächlich fühle ich mich manchmal wie einer – diesem Gefühl habe ich sogar ein ganzes Album gewidmet (Mars, 2012).“

The people I met during filming taught me to smile and dance, even in the midst of a daily life oppressed and undignified by politics and those who consider themselves superior. The heroes of the film are tired of fighting, and yet they fight every day. They fight back with their joy and their dance, in order to keep the ghosts at bay. They do not accept defeat at the hands of sadness, poverty and frustrations. They are the heroes of the film. They are the heroes of life. My deepest gratitude goes to everyone involved in the project, most of all to Ahmed (Sinkane) for giving me the opportunity to tell this story.“
