Anna Lotterud, besser bekannt unter ihrem musikalischen Alter Ego Anna of the North wirbelt schon seit einigen Jahren also norwegische Pop-Newcomerin durch die Blogs, Streaming-Dienste und Festival-Line-Ups. Mit ihrer charmant-selbstironischen Selbstdarstellung, aber auch mit ihrem zuckersüß-eingängigen Pop-Songs hat sie auch uns schon spätestens seit ihrem Debütalbum Lovers von 2017 den Kopf verdreht. Und wohl nicht nur uns, sammelte das Album doch schon über 180 Millionen Streams und zog in 170 Ländern in die Top 100 der Charts ein! Seitdem ist die Norwegerin aber alles andere als untätig, sang sie doch auf zwei Tyler, the Creator Songs, sang mit Rejjie Snow ein Duett oder auch auf einem HONNE Song, spielte zusammen mit Anderson Paak und veröffentlicht mit Thank Me Later die mittlerweile dritte Single auf dem Weg zum Zweitwerk! Über den Song, der visuell auch wieder sehr charmant in Szene gesetzt wurde, sagt die Musikerin selbst: “I’m super excited about this song. It’s the first song I wrote towards this next record. There are so many songs where girls get objectified and controlled by the powerful and rich front man, made out to be all sexy and cute. I’m a front woman and this is a chance for me to get my own back. As well as to remind the guys that it’s not all about the money and that they can be sexy and cute too.”
