Was macht man nicht alles der Liebe wegen…so zog es auch den Songwriter Ryan Edmond aus der westaustralischen Kleinstadt Rockingham ein mal auf die andere Seite der Welt. Und wieder zurück. Denn für die Aufnahme seiner neuen Single Stockholm kehrte der Multiinstrumentalist, der zuvor schon als Kornettist mit diversen renommierten Bands und Künstlern aufgetreten ist, wieder zurück nach Australien, um mit Craig Harnath (Motor Ace, Jet) und Jez Giddings (The Living End, Ash Grunwald) in den Hot House Studios in Melbourne zu arbeiten. Herausgekommen ist dabei ein Song, bei dem Edmonds hypnotisierenden Gesangsmelodien schnell in Fahrt kommen und bei dem das gespenstische Brass-Arrangement einen beeindruckenden und markanten Wechsel in der Dynamik bietet.

Edmond sagt zur Bedeutung hinter dem Song: “Stockholm is about the similarities and differences of living in two different parts of the world. From the beaches and relaxed vibes of Australia to the mountains, forests and historical architecture of Sweden. I want people to be able to interpret the song in their own way although for me “Stockholm” is also about moving to the other side of the world for true love, the beauty of being able to live in different cities and countries but also the challenges that you face. Such as finding a place that feels like home for both of you”
