Drei Jahre ist es mittlerweile her, dass wir Girl in Red auf unserem Radar aufnahmen und uns immer weiter in das Schlafzimmerprojekt von Marie, der 21jährigen Norwegerin verliebten. Viel ist seitdem passiert und mittlerweile hat Girl in Red 4,5 Millionen Hörer im Monat bei Spotify. Beachtlich. Nun hat sie eine Oyster Session mit einem Cover von Maggie Rogers aufgenommen. Studio Oyster lädt nordische Künstler ein, Musik ohne Regeln oder Einschränkungen aufzunehmen und zu veröffentlichen. Sie selbst sagt dazu folgendes:

“in december last year i was invited to do an oyster session in the spotify studio in stockholm, i had two days to record a cover of my choice. right away i knew i wanted to make my version of ‘say it’ by maggie rogers. i was going through some weird shit last year and i wasn’t able to write about it cause i didn’t really know what i was feeling and i was confused af, but this song put my feelings into words and made me understand myself. listening to my version now, it feels like its my own song and that these are the exact words i would have written. i had tickets to see maggie play in oslo last year, but she was playing the same day as i left for my first tour. i had this song with me every day on tour and i know it will be with me for the rest of my life. i cry everytime i listen to this part of the song cause it hits so fucking hard”
