Passend zum heutigen Geburtstag ihres Bruders und Produzentens FINNEAS, sowie nachdem sie es die ganze Woche via ihren sozialen Netzwerken geteasert hatte, veröffentlicht die US-amerikanische Newcomerin Billie Eilish heute ihre neue Single my future! Diese entstand während dem Corona-Lockdown und die Künstlerin, die zuletzt auch den Titelsong zum neuen James Bond-Film Keine Zeit zu sterben produziert hat, sagt in einem Statement darüber: “It’s a song that’s really really personal and special to me…When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at—hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self reflection and self growth. But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. I hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves.” Das Animationsvideo zum Song produzierte Andrew Onorato.

Während noch nicht bekannt ist, ob my future auch Teil des Nachfolge-Albums zum gefeierten Debüt When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? aus 2019 sein wird, gab FINNEAS zuletzt schon in einem Interview mit Vulture bekannt, dass sie derzeit an dem Zweitwerk arbeiten: “We’ve started working on the new album, and I think the best thing we can do is stay out of our own way. The first album was pretty pure in its intention…Our only target was to make an album that we liked, to play live. I think that’s all we’re gonna do for the second. All the other things are side effects. You can’t aim for those.”
