Schöner wird es heute, vielleicht die ganze Woche nicht mehr: der Schweizer Musiker Gaspar Narby setzt mit So Bored der Schönheit und Absurdität der Langeweile ein hymnisches Monument, voller sanft gezupfter Ukulele, Ohrwurm-Gesangs-Parts und sympathischer Punchlines! Beispiel gefällig: “Honey I’m so bored, we should rob a bank, and when the cops arrive say it’s a YouTube prank” Dabei wird nicht klar, ob die Person im Song verzweifelt ist, gesehen werden will…oder ihr einfach wirklich nur sehr langweilig ist. Vielleicht aber auch ein bisschen von allem.

Zum Song sagt Gaspar: “I wanted the cute Pixar-like uke to clash with the lyrics. The bridge of the song might be my favourite section of the entire EP. ‘Honey I’m so bored, we should rob a bank, and when the cops arrive say it’s a YouTube prank’ is such a stupid idea, and perhaps one of my favourite lyric on the EP. The narrator seems to be asking for trouble. I don’t really know whether he’s desperate, needs to be seen or he’s actually genuinely bored. Maybe a bit of all this. I used a lot of cassette tape when recording this one, to force myself to freeze my ideas, so I wouldn’t back away from them and change it all again.”
