Was tun wenn die Pandemie die Tätigkeiten deines Hauptprojekts beschränkt? Man nutzt die Zeit, um sich auch einfach mal stay-at-home-mäßig solo zu betätigen. So geschehen im Falle des schwedischen Songwriters und Multiinstrumentalistens FredAtlast, der seine Debüt-EP Banner Of A Lost Belief für den 13. Mai bei Small Matter Records ankündigt und dessen Single One Day als erster Vorbote heute bei uns Premiere feiert! Fred, ansonsten besser bekannt als Bassist von Little Dragon beschreibt den Song als „A meditation on impermanence and our way of dealing with loss. A plea to our nearest to be: nearer, dearer and more daring.“

Die EP nahm in einer verlassenen Holzmühle und in Freds Küche unter der Inspiration des verstorbenen Autors Sven Lindqvist Gestalt an. Aufgenommen wurde das Album im Little Dragon Studio in Göteborg mit Hilfe und Unterstützung der übrigen Bandmitglieder, die in unterschiedlicher Weise auch auf der EP zu hören sind.

Über das Video sagt Fred: „The video for the song One day is inspired by childhood memories of smokey Bingo halls. My grandparents had regular Bingo nights in the community house of the village were I grew up. I used to hang around and watch the old people play, drink coffee and smoke. There was an intense dedication and focus, both on the game and the prise. My grandfather was the announcer and my grandmother sold coffee, sweets and cigarrettes. I also joined them for Car-Bingo on Sundays, hundred of cars parked tightly on a parking lot, loaded up with a thermos and ready to honk. The video is dedicated to my grandparents.“
