Vor einer gefühlten Ewigkeit erschien Matthew Hegarty im Fahrwasser von Daughter, Bear’s Den und Co mit seinem Projekt Matthew And The Atlas sowie von Synthies und Electronica durchzogenem Folk auf der Bildfläche auf. Im Oktober erschien nun das vierte Album This Place We Live des Briten – über das er erzählt: „Over the pandemic I set up a studio in my garage with the hope I could make a record there. It took longer than I expected but I learnt a few things along the way and I enjoyed the process of writing and creating it immensely. I wrote a lot of songs over that period, none of them with a set theme in mind, but listening to the album now I can see I was looking back into the past for inspiration, which makes sense given the new world we all found ourselves in during that time. This Place We Live takes a journey back, to the places I have spent time in, to music shops and venues now long gone, traveling through India, a road trip in California, and to my experiences dealing with old traumas.“

Unterwegs ist Matthew dieser Tage auch wieder, denn seine Solo-Tour führt ihn auch unter anderem nach Deutschland, präsentiert von Bedroomdisco.de!
